フィリピングループ(24名）で被災地へボランティアに行ってきました。

On January 1, 2024, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck 7 kilometers of Suzu. It is located on the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. However, we went to Hakui and Wajima City. In Wajima, it has estimated to have large number of buildings completely or partially destroyed and 10 deaths confirmed after their remains found in an area around the Morning market in the central part of Wajima. Even after a month, challenges remain in the recovery effort and people still living at the evacuation shelters and schools.

2024年1月1日、珠洲市から7キロの地点でマグニチュード7.6の地震が発生しました。そこは、石川県の能登半島です。

私たちは羽咋市と輪島市に行きました。輪島市では、中心市街地の朝市周辺で遺骨が見つかり、10人の死亡が確認されました。

1ヶ月が経過した現在でも、復興には課題が残っており、避難所や学校での生活も続いています。

On February 23-24, 2024, in response to this calamity, although the Japanese government has smoothly restored the power electricity and some municipalities have temporarily access of water, through the support of the Diocese of Hiroshima, many Japanese and Filipino communities have shared their clothes, toiletries, water and food. Some Filipino communities in the Diocese of Hiroshima through the effort of Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, an international non-profit organization, volunteered in this activity “ TASKFORCE: ISHIKAWA EARTHQUAKE.” There were 24 volunteers included Father Roldan and I. These volunteers are Filipinos coming from different parishes, such us Fukuyama Church, Miyoshi Church, Okayama Church, Yonago Church, Kurayoshi Church and Kurashiki Church.

2024年2月23日～24日、この災害に対し、日本政府は順調に電力を復旧させ、一部の自治体では一時的に水が使えるようになりました。一方広島教区では、教区のサポートのもと、日本人やフィリピン人のコミュニティが、衣類、洗面用具、水、食料を支援しました。

広島教区のフィリピン人コミュニティのなかには、国際的な非営利団体であるイーグルス友愛会の努力で、この「石川県沖地震」対策に参加しているコミュニティもありました。そこには、ダン神父と私も含め２４人のボランティアが参加していました。ボランティアは、福山教会、三次教会、岡山教会、米子教会、倉吉教会、倉敷教会のようにさまざまの小教区のフィリピン人です。

By bus and 2 private cars, we departed at Fukuyama Catholic Church at 10:30PM on January 23. Then at 6:45 am, January 24, we arrived in Hakui District, Ishikawa Prefecture. We cooked food for the Filipino communities in Hakusan City and around 10:00am we departed going to Hakusan City Cultural hall. Father Roldan and I celebrated the Holy mass then after the mass we distributed the food, clothes and cash donations to the Filipinos.

バスと自家用車2台で、23日午後10時30分に福山カトリック教会を出発。そして1月24日午前6時45分、石川県羽咋郡に到着。

白山市のフィリピン人コミュニティーのために食事を作り、10時頃に白山市文化会館に向かいました。ロルダン神父と私はミサを

捧げ、ミサの後、フィリピン人たちに食料、衣類、現金の寄付を配りました。

Then at 3:00pm, we went to Wajima and we arrived there around 5:45pm, we offered prayed to those who have died and Father Roldan and I blessed the place with Holy water. After the blessing, we meet some Filipino community members and we distributed the food, clothes and toiletries. We listened to their stories and together with the volunteers, we offered them a prayer. The people whom we met were so happy. They also expressed their gratitude to the diocese of Hiroshima through the effort Filipino communities in the Diocese. We departed from Wajima around 7:00PM and we went back to Okayama around 6:30am, and around 9:00am in Fukuyama Catholic Church. It was our joy to serve and extend our help and support to the Filipino communities of Ishikawa Prefecture.

その後、午後3時に輪島に向かい、5時45分頃に輪島に到着。亡くなった方々に祈りを捧げ、ロルダン神父と私は聖水で輪島を

祝福しました。祝福の後、フィリピン人コミュニティの方々と会い、食料、衣類、洗面用具を配りました。彼らの話を聞き、

ボランティアと共に祈りを捧げました。出会った人たちはとても喜んでくれました。また、広島教区のフィリピン人コミュニティを通して、

広島教区への感謝の気持ちを伝えてくださいました。輪島を出発したのは午後7時頃、岡山に戻ったのは午前6時半頃、福山カトリック教会に到着したのは午前9時頃でした。石川県のフィリピン人コミュニティーのために奉仕し、支援することができたことを嬉しく思います。
